What Are Chakras
Chakras are the seven energy centers that run along the spine, from the base up to the crown of the head.
Each chakra connects to different physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being.

Let’s take a look at an overview of each chakra and its associated meaning:
Crown Chakra
The Crown chakra is located at the top of the head and represents our connection to the divine, as well as spiritual enlightenment.
Understanding these chakras and their associated meanings can help us identify areas in our lives that may be out of balance and in need of improvement.
Third Eye Chakra
Found between the eyebrows, the Third Eye chakra governs intuition, imagination and inner wisdom.
Throat Chakra
Located at the throat, this chakra is associated with communication, self-expression and authenticity.
Heart Chakra
As the name suggests, the Heart chakra is located at the heart and governs our ability to love and connect with both ourselves and others.
Solar Plexus Chakra
The Solar Plexus chakra is located at the stomach and represents our self-esteem and personal power.
Sacral Chakra
Found below the belly button, the Sacral chakra governs our creativity, sexuality and ability to feel pleasure.
Root Chakra
Located at the base of the spine, the Root chakra represents our sense of safety and security, as well as our connection to the physical world.
The Importance Of Aligning Your Chakras
Having balanced chakras is crucial for our overall physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
When our chakras are balanced and energy flows freely through them, we feel energized, confident and content.
However, when one or more of our chakras is blocked or overactive, we may experience physical as well as emotional symptoms.
By aligning our chakras, we can release any blockages or excess energy and restore balance to our mind, body and spirit.
This can lead to increased vitality, improved relationships and a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment in life.
Aligning our chakras can also help us connect with our higher selves and tap into our intuition and inner wisdom.
When we are in tune with our chakras and energy centers, we are better equipped to navigate life’s challenges and make choices that align with our true path and purpose.
Incorporating tarot into our chakra healing practice can further enhance our understanding of our energy centers and guide us towards personal growth and self-discovery.
Chakra Balancing Techniques
There are many ways to align your chakras, but here are a few popular methods:
Meditation
Meditation is a powerful tool for chakra healing, as it helps to calm the mind and promote relaxation.
To begin, find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed and sit in a comfortable position.
Focus on your breath and visualize energy flowing to each of your chakras in turn, starting at the root chakra and working your way up to the crown chakra.
Imagine each chakra becoming clearer and brighter with each breath.

Crystals
Crystals have been used for centuries for their properties and are a popular tool for chakra balancing.
Each crystal has its own unique properties, and certain stones are associated with specific chakras.
For example, Red Jasper is often used for the Root chakra, while Amethyst tends to be used for the Third Eye chakra.
Place the crystal on or near the corresponding chakra while meditating or carry it with you throughout the day.
Aromatherapy
Essential oils are another way to balance the chakras.
Simply add a few drops of an oil associated with a particular chakra, such as lavender for the Crown chakra or sandalwood for the Root chakra, to a diffuser.
Yoga
Yoga is another effective way of aligning the chakras.
Each yoga pose targets a specific chakra and helps to unblock any stagnant energy.
For example, tree pose (Vrksasana) and mountain pose (Tadasana) are great for balancing the root chakra, while camel pose (Ustrasana) and boat pose (Navasana) can help to balance the Solar Plexus chakra.
Incorporating a regular yoga practice can help to promote overall chakra well-being.
By incorporating these techniques into your daily routine, you can begin to align your chakras and find relief from any symptoms you may be experiencing.
Tarot And Chakras
Tarot and chakras are both powerful spiritual tools for personal growth and self-discovery.
Tarot cards are a deck of 78 cards, each of which are associated with different symbols, archetypes and meanings.
These cards can be used as a tool for divination, as well as a tool for self-reflection and introspection.
In a similar way, chakras are energy centers that represent different aspects of our being.
By combining these two tools, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our energy centers.
Each tarot card is associated with a particular chakra and can help us to focus on balancing that specific energy center.

For example, the High Priestess card is often associated with the Third Eye chakra, which governs intuition and wisdom.
By meditating on this card and focusing on the Third Eye chakra, we can gain insight into our own intuition and inner knowing.
The Lovers card is often associated with the Heart chakra, which governs our ability to love and connect with others.
By connecting with this card and focusing on the Heart chakra, we can cultivate a deeper sense of compassion and understanding in our relationships.
Using tarot in conjunction with our chakras can also help us to identify areas in our lives that may be out of balance.
By drawing a tarot card and reflecting on its meaning, we can gain insights into the messages our bodies and spirit are trying to communicate to us.
For example, if we pull the Tower card, which is mostly associated with the Crown chakra, we can interpret it as a call to surrender our ego and let go of limiting beliefs that are blocking our spiritual development.
By focusing on the Crown chakra and aligning to its energy, we can begin to release these blocks and move towards greater spiritual enlightenment.
Incorporating tarot into our chakra practice can also help us to stay connected to our intuition and inner wisdom.
By regularly drawing cards and reflecting on their meaning, we can develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and our connection to the world around us.
Tarot can serve as a powerful tool for personal growth, and when combined with chakra balancing techniques, can help us to find inner peace and fulfillment in all aspects of our lives.
Chakras And Associated Tarot Cards
Chakras and tarot cards are intimately connected and each chakra is associated with specific tarot cards.
Let’s go over some of the most powerful combinations!

The Crown chakra is associated with The World, which represents spiritual enlightenment, completion, and fulfilment.
The Tower and the Star are also intensely associated with the Crown chakra.

Other cards that are connected to this chakra are the Hermit and the Hanged Man.

Throat Chakra Tarot Cards
The Throat chakra is associated with The Hierophant, as this card represents communication, wisdom and spiritual guidance.
Heart Chakra Tarot Cards
The Heart chakra is (as you probably already expected) connected to The Lovers, which represents love, unity, and emotional balance.
Solar Plexus Chakra Tarot Cards
The Solar Plexus chakra is associated with The Emperor, which represents power, authority and control.
Other cards that are deeply associated with this chakra are the Chariot and Strength.

Sacral Chakra Tarot Cards
The Sacral chakra is associated with the Empress, which represents creativity, sensuality and abundance.
Root Chakra Tarot Cards
The Root chakra is associated with the Fool, which is strongly connected to new beginnings and taking a leap of faith.

Another card that is strongly associated with this chakra is the Magician.
Chakra Tarot Spreads
One example of a tarot spread for chakra healing is the seven-card chakra spread.
To do this spread, you would draw a card for each of the seven chakras.
If you want, you can place it on the corresponding area of your body, but just laying the cards out in front of you is fine as well.
Then, take some time to reflect on the meaning of each card and how it relates to the specific chakra.

This can help you identify areas in your life that may need attention and give you insight into the steps you can take to achieve balance and inner peace.
If you prefer to use a smaller spread, you can also customize a spread based on the specific chakra you want to focus on.
For example, for the Throat chakra, you can draw three cards and reflect on how each card relates to communication, self-expression and authenticity.
Of course, using just one card is fine as well!
The possibilities are endless, and the more you work with tarot and chakras together, the more creative you can be with your spreads.
